This is for the Newbies and maybe for some of the more experienced expats here who may have overlooked this, now this is for the water which you can have delivered to your place of abode, There are two kinds of water , Mineral and purified, the Purified is supposed to be better it is the one we use here, The mineral water sometimes has a different taste and sometimes unwelcome visitors as one of our expat group pointed out in one meeting, I get 3 big bottles for 100php and it lasts around 5 days, this is just some I hope helpful info to help us stay safe as you dont want to contaminated water

I buy 20 gallons at a time filtered water. It's delivered to my door for 100Php. We go through 40 gallons a month.

The city water here in Santa Rosa is potable and I drank it for a year without problems. We then moved to a place with a shallow well and that water is not safe to drink, but it's okay for cooking and washing.

Your best water will be reverse osmosis.

I used to have alkaline water in 5 gallon blue container delivered to my doorstep for 50 Php. It was run by a family in my subdivision. I noticed the alkaline water made me feel sleepy or sluggish and their container sometimes aren't cleaned enough. Switched to "Healthy Family" water, an Ayala Corp. run water business franchise. They deliver their mineral water in transparent 5 gallon (similar to US Sparklets) blue plastic containers for 45 PhP. Initial purchase includes two 5 gallons water and a dispenser for 240 PhP. So far no problem with the smell, taste, purity, or getting sick. You could text their drivers and have them deliver within a couple of hours.

Tap water disguised in a sealed bottle. Some street vendors have a little trick of re-using purified water bottles by filling them with tap water and using a heated item like a soldering iron and melting the broken tabs back together to appear as though the cap is sealed. It will twist and snap the tabs just like the real thing. Check the tabs to see if they look to have been melted and resealed.

At the refilling stations, some may clean out your container before refilling and if they are using a soapy solution some will remain because the container is not thoroughly rinsed, the soap residue can make you sick to your stomach or cause diarrhea.

Never had a problem yet in 6 years we bought a a water filter unit pour water through the top container it goes through a ceramic filter into a charcoal type filer and drips out into the bottom container, after drinking the water you buy then tasting this filtered water the taste was way better.
