Hi,
I'm flying from US to Philippines from 4/13-4/21. Do I need a visa in addition to my passport?
Thanks, Mark

No visa needed. How long are you staying? Under 30 days no problem.

Markrf,
You worry me. You have been asking so many basic questions over the last few weeks that can be answered with a one minute search on the google. "Do I need a visa along with my passport" for a one week stay? I hope you know where the Philippines is located and you have done some research on the Philippines and relationships with Filipinas by foreigners or you'll be in for a rude awakening. We are here to help you but some of the things you have been asking really concern me. This trip to the Philippines is not like going to meet someone in Florida. Just like it's been said many times before the Philippines is not for the naïve person who travels on their own. It's a whole different world with different rules. You have a month to start researching and learning. Good luck, I hope everything turns out ok.

1 weeks holiday in Philippines? About 4 days will be spent traveling and her lag. You wasting your time and money i think. I spent 2 weeks here once that was not long enough, 3 to 4 weeks is better.
But as said before you seem to know absolutely nothing about the Philippines, you will have to be on your toes here, meeting g a girl for the first time? Got to have your wits about you 24/7.
Good luck

Nope, no visa required for you. I'm in Cebu right now.

Safe travels Mark!

I appreciate your concern, thank you. Sorry if i am asking basic questions, but of course it is part of my research before traveling. You all have been very helpful. I would like to spend more than one week in the Phils, maybe next time. Thanks again for bearing with me.

I am still a couple of years away from the possible planned move to the Philippines for retirement, I have been doing a ton of research but one topic I am having difficulty finding information on is; assuming I fly in and obtain Tourists Visa, extended a few times and decide to stay. After satisfying all of the residency requirements for the Special Resident Retiree's Visa can I apply while I am still in the Philippines or do I have to return to my own country first? Anyone have any help on this topic? Thank you.

What I mean is you can stay for 36 months on a Tourist visa but don't leave it to the last minute to apply for the srrv after say a year and a half or so you should have a pretty good idea if you want to stay permanently here because if you leave it until the last minute you will have to leave for 24 hrs minimum to the nearest country like Singapore
