You mean a semi retirement home shared with the inlaws?
If rented out the other 6 months you might drop a few tears,,,

No way would I build a house here for 6 months and leave empty for 6 months, rent it for 6 months and you will spend the next few months cleaning repairing etc. Move a family member in, when you go back in 6 months do you throw them out for 6 months? Leave it empty and the cockroaches and termites move in. I have seen so many do this and it's always been a problem. My friend is going through it right now. His sister in law is there but the house needs a lot of work doing now. I would just rent for 6 months even pay the rent 6 months in advance

if all her family live there and u seem to trust them, then what advice are u looking for? i have a house here in baler now for 8 years, just me and my wife live in the house and 2 rotweilers outside, i have been retired more than 8 years, very few expats here, very little english spoken or understood, we go to angeles city for a few days each month, many many expats there and good restaurants as well, very few good restaurants in baler, my opinon anyway, where would u build a house? in the city of baler or where? u have pass by our house as u are entering baler, we are right on the corner where u have to turn left toward baler or turn right to san luis, house with green roof and grenn wall wrapped around 800 square meters, very quiet spot, i like it any questions, feel free to ask have a good one----good luck most expats come over for beers on sunday at my place

We travelled to baler about 3 years ago. Long 3 hour journey. I remember the pretty green palm trees appearing closer to the coast. We couldn't find a place to eat. It seems they preferred us to go buy from the fishermen, then bring it back and it could be cooked for us. Good road right up to a fenced area by the water, but no sign of a sandy beach.

Thanks Nick beers sounds so good lol. Ill be in baler next June doing a lotof research as my wife owns land there but were looking for a block at least 1000m squared. It will mainly be for our retirement in a couple of years time and as for the lifestyle there it sounds like it will be peaceful and quiet. Do you get any trouble there and i will be having 2 dogs as well to keep the peace. My wife says she has never really experienced any trouble there.

Hi Guys,
My wife and i have just moved to 15 mins from Baler this October. Im regularly visit Baler. Glad a few expats around I hadn't noticed any so far. I agree frequent trips to Angeles, Subic, or manila are required as it can get quite boring here. I have to supplement my income here as I am only 39. So ill be busy rolling the dice on trying to make a living here- I'm sure better men have tried and failed!
