Hello, I have found your email address on expatexchange.com and I thought I would write to you.
I always wanted to have an English-speaking penpal in order to develop my English speaking ability.
Before I turn into a chatterbox today I should say something more about myself.
I'm almost 27 years old. I live in Gdansk (!), believe it or not… Three years ago I graduated from the Teacher's Training College (the University of Gdansk) where I was studying English Philology. I've been teaching English for three years, not only in a high school but I also "torture" future nurses and psychologists! I'm about to graduate from postgraduate journalism studies (I just started writing my diploma paper on Stonehenge).
"You don't need to have a good brain" (that's the quotation from "Monty Python"!) to guess my main hobby - English, and to be more precise, the culture of English-speaking countries, especially Irish and British. I also have a passion for history, e.g. the Celts. I just love stuff and items of Irish descent. I'm hooked on rock and pop music from the late 70s and 80s as well as Irish folk; these groups and singers are among my ultimate favourites - Police, Sting, U2, The Corrs, Genesis, Mike And The Mechanics, Clannad, Chris Rea; the list is endless... I love British humour as well. I love travelling (my motto is: destination doesn't really matter, just be among a bunch of interesting people!!). I like people who take interest in Polish culture and I'm always happy when I can have a chance to tell someone about Poland. I guess I'm running out of ideas what else to write about. It seems hard to describe oneself in such a way that the reader won't start yawning the moment he gets down to reading. Besides, at this point we don't know each other at all. We both can say that the other person is "somewhere out there". If you wish to find the person at the end of the cable, please drop me a line. Tell me more about yourself... Take care, Marta My email: celtic@go2.pl
