" Please help - I am moving to Portugal in August and I''ve just been told that I can''t use my four British TV''s. Is this the case? Also, if anyone has a contact for a good shipping company please let me know. "

" Dear Josephine, It is indeed true that your British TV''s will be no good in Portugal since the system in UK is different from the rest of Europe. You could only use them for watching yr British videos but not for watching programmes in Portugal. Have you considered using the assistance of a relocation company when you move to Portugal? We would be pleased to offer our services and to work out a service package suitable for your needs. For further info you can visit our website at: www.pexrelocations.com or send us an email. best regards, Carl von Winning PEX Relocations, Portugal email: Carl@pexrelocations.com website: www.pexrelocations.com tel.: +351.21.4827949 fax: + 351.21.4827948 "

" You can receive English channels (and umpteen of other languages) by satellite: CNN, NBC, BBC World, SKY news etc. on the Astra or Hot Bird. All you need is a dish (80 cm diam.) LNB and receiver. These components sell as systems/kit, e.g. in Germany but in the meantime also in Portugal, in the price range ca. € 65.00 - 80.00. Some additional minor costs for fastenings and cables. Every layman can install the system readily if there is an unobstructed view to the position of the satellites from the balcony, a side wall or roof of his house. "
