Hi, looking for either a small sofa or a chaise longue. Should be around 146cm length & 60-70cm width....height no restrictions. Preferably in beige/creme but willing to upholster. Nothing new...prefer old style.
Cascais are. Thanks.

Marilyn: I was actually trying to respond to a message you posted about dogs--and I don't even have one--yet I was impressed by your sensibility. My husband and I will visit Portugal, staying in Algarve and Lisboa, in early April. We want to check this out for a full time retirement destintation. You're in the North, likely enjoying slightly better costs. What motivated you to choose your 'where'? Do you know of reputable realtors with whom we could meet to tour possible long term lease properties?

thanks for your message.
you don't mention from were you will be coming from? the first thing to consider is any pensions/salaries that are currantly in sterling perhaps, and what could happen when you convert to euros! A LOT of Brit expats have left Portugal this last 12 months because the loss in interest etc has drastically effected their incomes! PortugaL is great but not as cheap as one thinks. if you give me an idea of your budget, i'll let you know who I recommend as realitors. do you have an email address? i know of one lovely house 30 mins of lisbon in a gorgeous village that friends of ~mine are selling. i could send you photos. perhaps you better let me know what exactly you are looking for!

Marilyn:
Craig and I are moving from the US, specifically Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We will have US$70,000 for annual living expenses and would start with leasing a home (suggested on websites) for about 2000 euros/month...if that is reasonable for a 2 bed/2 bath.

yes, thats fine. tell me what kind of lifestyle you're looking for, so i can advise you were to live. The Algarve is totally over priced, over packed in summer and dreary in winter, and no culture to speak of.i think you would like estoril/cascais...the resorts of lisbon....which is 20 mins away. check out also sintra and surroundings...lots of expats.my email is marilyn@artists-group.com. i'd like to send you pix of a lovely house.
