I'm considering a move to portugal and need some guidance. I'm wanting to retire in cascais, I've been told its one of the best places to live for a lot of reasons. I'm 64 female and will live alone, and will be needing a 1 or 2 bed accommodation in a safe neighborhood and close to medical facilities if I need them, to be able to walk to shops and entertainment. I will be living off my social security from usa (currently residing), and some pension from UK (im uk citizen first and usa citizen second. there's a lot of other questions I have too many to list, but if someone could give me an overall picture that will be very much appreciated. linda

Hi Linda, Welcome ! I am a Cascais Resident and if you are interested I have an apartment for rent or sale on the Avenida Infante Dom Henrique:

hope you can see the link from this website.
It's a safe neighbourhood, with amenities within walking distance.
If, for example, you would need to go to the Hospital Emergencies, it will take 7 minutes by car ( taxi )
Regards, Sylvia

We will look forward to you joining us in Cascais! Suggest you go to the map.com, casasapo and remax sites for properties, see where they are on the map, and narrow your search--but most of all, just get a one or two month rental first and get acclimated, go around with realtors to see properties in your favorite areas. Medical care is an easy cab ride away from any neighborhood.
