Aloha! We are a "retiring" couple (American male, Swiss/American female) now living on Hawaii's Big island. Prior to selling here and relocating in Portugal, we'll home exchange in October 2016 for two weeks in San Bras, Algarve and then spend another two weeks exploring the area that most attracts us (decided from a desk in the middle of the Pacific ocean!), that being the coastal Alentejo perhaps around the Odemira/Ourique region northwards. The area around Sintra also attracts us so we are quite open to possibilities. Near Lisbon would be fine as well if affordable. We will likely rent a car for the two week recon. Having built two homes here in Hawaii we would rather rent initially and not have to deal with the building/maintenance that comes with owning a home. Eventually we'd like to retire on about $2,000/month, stepping down from our current piece of paradise and it's prices. Pravina speaks French, English, and some Spanish, while I'm stuck with American English...so far. We have travelled and lived abroad in the past, including Mallorca and India. We would appreciate hearing from like minded expats with good news or cautionary news as the case may be. Mahalo! Kindly, Srajan
