I have enough to live on when I get to Portugal but I'm too young to do "nothing" and would like to make a little € while I'm there. I practiced law in my 20-30's and became a psychotherapist in my early 40s and have done that for 15 years. I've taught a bit, and owned a couple businesses. But I really just want something fun to do for 15-20 hours a week to make life interesting. Or something not as fun. Anything really! Even working remotely would be fine. Any ideas? Or guidance? Thanks!!

More than a year later, I have the same question. :)

The usual remote-job ideas are Virtual Assistant and Transcriber. So there are a couple of the most obvious ideas.

Being a part-time English tutor is a possibility if you're in a populated area. The remote options are very limiting, so I myself would definitely prefer something on the ground, and I think it's just one of those things ... it's a lot easier to know the options once you're there. C'est la vie.

But I'm subscribed to this thread in case anyone else has good brainstorm ideas. :-b

AnalogKid84, there are dozens of different things you can do online for a few hours a week, from anywhere in the world you have an internet connection. You can teach English via Skype. You can tutor students via Skype. You can start an import/export business using drop shippers so you don't have to spend thousands of dollars on inventory. You can do affiliate marketing. You can set up a money making website or a blog in a niche of your choice and do some affiliate marketing. You can set up a "store" on Amazon and sell almost anything you're interested in. You can be an online consultant in your former career area. You can become a freelance writer in one or more of dozens of niches. You can write for print publications, or for the web. You can learn how to write grant proposals and earn a very nice part time income helping people get funding for their foundations and NGOs. You can write short "how to" books and publish them on Kindle and other eBook platforms. Just a few ideas to get you started. Good Luck!
