I've read the health insurance comments here - thanks everyone! What I'm wondering is how this all works. If I take out travel insurance until I get there can I get health insurance right away?

And can anyone speak to the quality of healthcare? I had cancer in my early 40s so I always want to make sure I'm fully insured.

Does the travel insurance just cover the costs to get back home and then u need to have ur own insurance again? Or does it overlap and u have double coverage? I'm pretty confused.

And then the detection machinery - will they have digital or whatever the latest technology is mammograms or are they a bit behind the times vs the US? Thanks for ur help!!
