I am a US licensed physician, Board Certified Family Medicine, bilingual English/Spanish, us citizen. I am thinking to move in the near future to the area and sadly I can't find enough information related to my profession in how to obtain a position as a medical doctor, there is nothing post that I can find of help for what I am looking, I wonder if I am in the wrong site, please help!
Thank you.

Have you looked at this website? It appears to lay out the requirements for transferring a non-EU medical license to Portugal.

One thing, though - it appears you need to be able to communicate in Portuguese to get the certificate. You would also have to jump through the normal hoops, discussed throughout this forum, to obtain (country) residency.

Thank you for replying Xabay,
I will check the website for more information, I know I would have to
go through all that bureaucracy in order to move but if I am lucky to find a company hiring physicians, they will offer assistance with visa and all the paperwork, I read there is a shortage of physicians there, that could be a plus, no I don't speak Portuguese, I wish, I am bilingual English/Spanish, there is not a requirement for language to be able to work as a physician there, I read.
Thank you for the info, I will look into to the website,
Regards,
Alina Pollan.

I can't imagine there is even the slightest demand in Portugal for general family practitioners who don't speak Portuguese. Additionally, how would you treat your patients and deal with everyone you need to communicate with?
