We have been in Lisbon for 7 month and have a Brazilian friend the said she got one for inversting $5000 opening her hair salon around the corner from us. She use an attorney while visiting from Brazil.

Paul, Thank you for taking the time to send me so much information. With a little luck we will be able to follow your lead and get the extension followed with the exit and re-entry. That is what we had planned on so we'll see if we can manage it. Neither of us speak Portuguese yet but we are learning. We may look at the Entrepreneur route but I think it would be a last resort because quite honestly, we don't even know that we want to stay in Portugal past the nine months. Some days we do and some days we don't if you know what I mean.... We are in Mount Estoril for another six weeks and then we are moving to an apartment in Lisbon to see which environment we prefer. Are the rules different for a Brazilian citizen vs. a US citizen? $5,000 USD seems like a low threshold for an entrepreneur visa.
