400€ for food?

Hi,

I would like to know if 400€ would be resonable amount of money to spend on food in Cluj for a family with 3 kids.
We usually do't miss anything on the table but we don't buy processed food and I like to cook. We do eat sandwiches sometimes and have pizza but usually it's salads, meat, vegetables, pasta, rice, things like that.

Based on our experience in Bucharest in April, 400 euros should be plenty, especially since you're saying that you're not into buying expensive specialties. Typically, we would go to a small grocery (such as Mega-Image) and buy food (cheeses, salami, hams, vegetables, bread, dairy, etc..) enough to feed 2 adults for 3 days and we would spend 35-40 euros. And this was in the expensive area of Bucharest!

Hi
I am in Constanta. It's two of us and we need 100.- Euro for groceries in two weeks if I cook a lot but if I would go to the market more it would be way cheaper. I still cook many not Romanian meals and we are vegetarian. maybe good to know ;) Cheers, Angie
