Hi, my wife and I are planning to move to Romania in the future but I first am hoping to find a job. I've always worked so it would be strange for me to move there and not work. My wife is from Romania and has moved here to the US with me a few years ago, but we simply don't like many things in this country and would like to move to her home and be close to her family now and hopefully make our life there. We are both young, and although she is Romanian and can speak the language and English very well, I can only speak English at the moment. I have been learning Romanian nearly every night but I'm still a beginner. My main question here is what steps should I take to find work in Romania? And I have seen many people say that they only speak English and still work in Romania...how do I find jobs like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day!

Has she acquired US citizenship? If she has citizenship she can come and go freely. If she does not and you decide to return to the US she may have to re-apply for a visa.
How young?
What lifestyle do you look for?
What skills do you have?
Working in Romania requires the sponsorship of an employing company. (If you have mad skills I can give you the name of a British headhunter who works in RO.)
Does her family have the connections to help you find such a company?
Do you work for an international company with a presence in Romania?

Hey thanks for the replies. She's 23 but she has not acquired her citizenship here but the problem there is we think it may take way too long to get it. She just finally now got her green card after 2 1/2 years of waiting. Pretty sure now to get her citizenship we would have to wait another 3 years. We're not so sure we want to be here that long. It's been very difficult for her being away from her family, and for me to move to Romania, it wouldn't really affect me emotionally too much.
What kind of mad skills are you talking about?? I graduated from college at the university of Pittsburgh with a management degree. I'm great with managing and can learn pretty much anything if given a bit of time. I'm good with human resources, marketing, training, numbers, etc. I'm also really good with electronics but I didn't go to school for that so it's tough for me to get a job in those fields. I'm great with computers though or pretty much anything technological. I'm not a programmer though.
And she is from Ploiesti, so we'd like to be close to there. Bucharest isn't so far. Or Brasov. We just started thinking about this recently and actually just got back from Romania a month ago.
