" Hello, I have been trying to get a position for a big international company there without any success. I am a Canadian citizen and recently graduated from a Canadian university with BBA (Finance). Also: - 3 years of Western work experience in Accounting and Finance - Knowledge of the former USSR - Fluent Russian and English One time a big consulting company expressed an interest at me (in Moscow) but eventually it did not work out. I do not know why? Do you think it is enough to get a financial job for American, European company there nowadays? Lower wage is not a problem. Main thing for me is a career. Thank you to everybody who replies to this massage. Yuri. "

May 2nd, 2002 Hello from Denver, It is 10 months since you posted your enquiry, but I'm wondering how you got on ? I have been in the same boat, but only working on it since Feb '02. I have been trying to get in with Russian companies, since I feel it would be better for a number of reasons for me, and I feel that my talents could be of more use. I've had 308 broadcast letters sent, and had about 12 replies. Now I plan to take the bull by the horns, and just go to Moscow in late June, take a flat, and start contacting firms from there, etc. - my philosophy being that the owners of Russian firms just can't imagine bringing someone such a distance for an interview, nonetheless offering a firm job. So that's why I'd be interested to hear from you. Charles E Hirsch - email "charljet@hotmail.com"
