Hi, my name is dave and i am moving to krasnoyarsk in siberia, Before i go i need to know what my status must be to allow me to live there permanently. I have recently split with my wife and she says she will not divorce me for two years, does this affect my ability to live in russia? , i have an address and a job when i get there , but i just need to know exactly what the russian government require of me. HELP PLEASE thanx

First, what made you decide to go to Siberia. Do you have a work contract there, because that would be your best move.

Not being divorced makes no diffeence,and won't be a problem, unless you want to marry a Russian and apply for residency.

No work contract? If you cqn afford it, you can go for business visa, that will allow you in the country for 90 days, if you are lucky enough to have a legal work contract for an expat, you can stay longer.

Immigration is almost impossible for you unless you are married to a Russian and go first of all for temporary tesidency as first stage.
