Ive heard it is easy to get a job in Russia "if you just show up" is this true?
I am interested in living in an area where there are mountains and less population, maybe a ski area, any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help.

You will never be able to survive independantly the area you describe. Outside of Moscow, you will starve, and have few clients. If you are not interested in making money, you can do it. Your idea of just "showing up" will only work in Moscow. Do you speak Russia? If not, you idea will never work. Yu want to live near the mountains, where there are less people. Where will you get clients? Most of your potential clients will have very little money. You will also be living in a remote area. Do you have a death wish? You will have 2 or 3 choices - go to the south - Sochi - home of the highest mountain peaks in Europe -and dangerous for naieve foreigners. You can go to the Urals - good luck finding clients in this remote & poor area. You can go to the far north near Murmansk. Have you save a lot of money? You must be prepared to stay for only 3 months and leave. Redo the visa every 3 months. That is what will happen at best - if you just "show up". You can not stay for more than 30 days the first time you are here. You will have to have a tourist Visa.
