I have not been here for a long time but, my wife is Soviet having been with me in the u.s. for 20 yrs. and "hates it here!" I won't use her words, but I will use the word TRASH. We are very concerned about steroids, pesticides etc. and try to buy Polish or NO U.S. food if possible. She tells me how good the meat was in the U.S.S.R., and here unless one pays good money, and gets lucky the stake it flavorless. We live near Chicago, but don't have chickens. The organic milk is $7/gal. from Wisconsin. The decent fruit is from Mexico, and Chile, and kiwis from Italy. u.s. apples are o.k.

Well she might be happy with some of the produce but the quality meat, while i was there, was imported and now with the sanctions. In terms of dairy forget about it. the vast majority of cheese produced locally are counterfeit and the milk is so heavily pasteurized that it isnt refrigerated until its been opened and would be very surprised if you could find organic milk at all.
