Can anyone inform me on the heightened safety concern in Saudi Arabia that expats are feeling? I am expected to transition to Riyadh early next year. I need to have as much insight as possible if I am to make a rationale work decision. Thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter.

" I live in Riyadh with my husband and our 3 children. We have been here since March (my husband since last Sept). Except for the day of the tragedy, we have not been concerned for our safety. That first day was a shock and with all the unknowns about what had happened, we were naturally concerned. But our life here has not changed. The kids go to school each day, my husband and I go to work. We go to the kids basketball games and do our grocery shopping each week just like any family anywhere. The Saudi''s as well as people from all over the world that we come in contact with here in Riyadh have been treated us with kindness and concern for what has happened. Many of them apologizing for the attack and telling us that they hope that this will not cloud our view of all Arab people. The support for us and the United States is prevalent here. Although things may change if and when there is retaliation from the US, for now, we are safe. No one that we know of has left the Kingdom because of the events that took place. Good Luck to you and yours in your decision. "

" Hello Cara, Have read your reply on the safety issue in SA. It is heartening to read this. My husband, myself and son are to move to Riyadh in 2 months. Thanks for the positive light. Andrea. If you would like to advise me/offer help or comments on life in Saudi it would be very much appreciated. I am looking forward to the move, but with a touch of apprehension of the unknown. thanks "
