My family and I are moving to Khamis Mushayt . Does anyone know where we can get pictures of the American compound? What are the houses in the American compoound like? What is there to do on the compound and in the surrounding area including abha? Can we bring our dog? Are the people in the area nice( saudi's)? How easy is it to travel within the kingdom? How easy is it to travel in and out of the kingdom? Will my wife have to cover her face? Is the area a safe one? Do we need to bring anything into the kingdom other than our clothes and kids toys? What kind of television do they offer in the Khamis area, satellite and such? I know this is a lot of questions but I have looked on the internet and can't find all the answers I need. Thank you to all who respond to this!!!

Hi My Name Is Coelise,
I live in Saudi Arabia in the Eastern Province. I work for a company called Aramco. It is the largest government owned oil company in the world.

I have inquired about Khamis and found out that it is one of the more rigid places to be in terms of dress code for women. Women can't drive there but men can take their woment whrerever they need to go an many people here have drivers that they hire for really cheap.

It is very difficult to take pictures here they mostly forbide it. The camp here if very nice. All the aminities of home but this used to be an american company so that may have a lot to do with it.

I have a satellite dish and you are allowed to get one in your home as well. The Saudi's are very very nice people. In fact when the war starting noone here really panicked. So only a hand full of people left. Most of the Saudi's in the Eastern Province are educated.

My e-mail address is coelise@lycos.com feel free to send me a line.

Best Wishes and happy holidays
