Bahrain to Saudi Commute - Visa Implications

Hello Everyone,

I am gaining employment in Dhahran but am choosing to reside in Bahrain and commute daily across the causeway. What are the visa/residency requirements in Bahrain for this if I have all the necessary visas/work permits for Saudi Arabia? I do not want to have my passport stamped with 8 stamps each day.

Does an IQAMA get me a vehicle log book that gets stamped as opposed to my passport? I am a Canadian citizen if that information is relevant to this question.

I would appreciate hearing from any other individuals that are doing the same thing to gain their insight. I would also appreciate hearing from any Canadians working in Saudi Arabia for the purpose of finding out more about the "non-resident" tax filing.

I can be reached at avisram@halvis.com.

Thanks for all your assistance.

Gooday Amyn

There is no problem with a GCC Resident commuting between Bahrain and Saudia each day - you will just have to ensure that you have the multiple entry visa from your company completed so you can do the commute.

You can obtain a booklet from either Saudi Immigration or Bahrain Immigration on the causeway that will be stamped each day. When you use the booklet make sure you have your passport with you as this is requested at times.

Let me know if you need any further info
