After having a look at the information pertaining to the position at http://www.berlitz.com/berlitz_corporate/employment_teachers.html#Saudi%20Arabia I would have second thoughts about the position.
The average salary for an expat in Saudi Arabia is SR 150,000 ($US40,000) with housing and car on top of this.
Saudi is a hardship posting as their is little for single expats to do in this country. No forms of entertainment exist apart from social gatherings with friends.
Have a good read through my paper on Living in Saudi on the opening page of the Saudi Information.
If I was looking at a posting to Saudi, I would be living in Al-Khobar in the eastern province.
Looking for work, try going to these sites
http://www.flipdog.com - lots of positions advertised in the Middle East
http://www.monster.com - great for international postings
http://www.bayt.com - Middle East Job site
Yes, you can break your contract but it would be very difficult for you to work in Saudi again.
The allowance offered for housing is miserable... you can will end up living in a dog box for this type of money. Generally housing would be in the SR 30-60K range.. with 30K being in the bottom range with a poor compound and 60K being in the mid range... the majority of the best compounds would be in the 80-120K range... I would try finding another expat to share with in a 60K type compound if you decide on the position.
Let me know if I can help in any way.... pathawkins@hotmail.com
