Considering Job in Riyadh

Hi - I've been offered a position with a hospital in Riyadh which I am currently considering. It is an administrative job, nothing too glamorous. I must admit that I'm not overly impressed with the salary I've been offered. I'm curious what salaries are typically like compared to working in north america.

I realize there is no tax and residence is provided, and while that is good, it's still not so much that I am enthusiastic about accepting, considering what must be sacrificed to live there. Is it normal to negotiate over pay or are offers typically presented "as-is", take-it-or-leave-it? When I first applied, I was asked and I indicated how much I would like to receive but the offer is a fair way off.

thanks

Don't go. Things will not improve. They will bargain but when you get there, they may try to re-negotiate. From someone who's been there.
