Family residence Visa

Hi Folks,

my husband is working in al Jubail since September 2007. My first stay in Saudi was in March 2008. Since his company sent him to Jubail it was planned, that I will accompany him.

For my first stay in Jubail I only get a visit visa for 3 month.

Somebody in my husbands company must have made a mistake, because I had to obtain a residence permit.

I leave Saudi on May, 13th. One of the liaison officers had to prepare the exit form paper for the company, my husbands working for, and they told me, that I had to make a copy of my passport with the new exit stamp in it an send it to the company as soon as possible to obtain residence...

Now I'm really frustrated... Today I've got an mail from one of the officers who's preparing my return to Saudi... and again something went wrong:

The Status of my husband is mentioned as "technichian". So I'm not allowed to get residence?

I've to sent again a authorized document of our marriage and Diploma or Educational Certificate, translated in arabic and - maybe - they can make a residence visa for me.

Another solution is to obtain again a visit Visa, so that I can return to KSA.

Can anyone tell me, what went wrong? How can we change the "status" of my husband? Is it possible?

The liaison officer told us at the airport, that we can call him, if we had any trouble with my residence permit. Does he mean we gave him money and everything is okay?

I'm really dissapointed this evening... a visit visa ma be a solution, but everytime you have much trouble, coming back again.

Did anybody has some experience and is able to help?

We planned to stay some years in Saudi Arabia. But at the moment I don't know, how to plan the next steps. Everything seems to be insecure and instable...

Your story sounds like my story

My husband was in KSA since April 2007 i finally joined him on 12th Dec 2007... i was also on a visit visa... i left KSA March 08 to return to Karachi and get my Residence Visa

I am still in Karachi waiting for it to be processed and have given up and now will be going back on another visit visa

My husband has the same problem...

In saudi Managerial positions are only meant to be given to saudis so they companies hire expats but on their Iqama put their job titles as something non managerial....my husband is an Operations Manager but on his Iqama he is a western chef

because of this when they went to put in my papers the guy at the visa office asked y he was bringing his family...as usually these ppl r not allowed to bring family in

the saudi guys working at mu husbands company were meant to resolve this issue but they did not....

so i have given up on a residence visa and will just go back on a visit visa.....

they are 3 mnth visas but once u r in KSA they can be extended for upto 9 mnths - 12mnths

Just go back on a visit visa....the whole visa issue is messed up and it sounds like yr husbands company is as incompetent at sorting these issues out as my husbands company

i have spent only 3.5 mnths with my husband since March 07 so imagine how i feel !

just go back on a visit visa....sort EVERYTHING OUT and get yr visa number in hand b4 u leave the country again or try and get some contacts who can change yr visa status once u get back 2 KSA

Good Luck

Hi fefe76,

your story is the same as mine I think...

When I go back I will try, to change status to get residence. I called the Visa- mess-up another kind of terrorism.. :-).

Where in KSA do you l "live"?

I understand... it's not nice living without your husband. My husband live in KSA since September 2007 and getting the visit visa takes until March 2008.

Maybe we should exchange our mail adress and contact about our further succes... :-)

best regards
Ajaja
