HI im Stef a single guy moving to Saudi Arabia in October to take on a job with Alsalem Aircraft company. Am wondering what the accomodation on the compounds are like for a single guy?? I understand that the accomodation is good with plenty of facilities??
Im being employed as the electrical instructor for their bell 412 helicopter program. My background is 17 years service in the RAF but have spent the last 3 teaching BAE apprentices in the UK.
Any info would be appreciated.

Hi, I am assuming that you will be employed by BAE on the Al Salam project. I am familiar with some of their compounds and facilities are very adequate. I don't know where you will be located but I think you will find that you are well catered for.The social ife for a single male on these compounds is usually quite reasonable also with many opportunities to make friends.

Stef, Can't give you any info at this time, but I'm headed to Jeddah in Aug. to work for Alsalam also. Hear I'm being quartered in the Saudi City compound in Jeddah. If you give me an email, I'll try to answer questions for you as I learn the ropes. Did you hire on via Boeing?

Which program are you joining? I spent some time at KKMC with the helicopter program, but that is all I know as far as compounds. And just the one in Riyadh where you do inprocessing. Let me know if you need more info.

I used to be the HR/Site Manager for Alsalam Aircraft Company in Khamis Mushayt before being moved to Riyadh. The places where Alsalam put you up are more than you expect. I know as a married guy it was wonderful and even when I was by myself before my wife came to join me, it was still very nice!! You will have a great time, Jeddah is wonderful as well, just like being in the US in my mind, without some of the normal food/drinks. I'm being contacted now in fact to go back over for the C-130 program as the HR Manager again, so who know, might run into each other.
Hope this helps. Sign up for the US Embassey emails too!

It's likely you'll be on Jadawel Compound. Huge villa, likely shared with another single male. 5000sf! Lots of amenities, pool, store, gym, etc. If you want more specific info on what to expect, reply with an email address and I'll get back to you.

Hi Stef, I am in the same boat as you.
I have just signed on with Alsalam as a C-130 Pneudraulics Instructor.
Did you get any information regarding accommodation etc?
I would really appreciate any information that you can give me.
How long after accepting the "Offer" were you told when to ship out to Saudi?
My email is nigel@nigelhuman.com
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Nigel
