I am an expatriate soon to relocate to NGHA Jeddah. Does anyone on here work there? Was wondering about the change of seasons and if I need to pack much in the line of winter clothes. Would I find health foods, non dairy products and such in the supermarkets. Can anyone recommend a good hairdresser and lots of stuff like that. Thank You

HI there,
thanks for message! Sorry i am NOT good with IT and tried to reply confidentialy so I could send you my phone number. Do not pack anything except the lightest cotton. THere is no winter and the coolest day is hotter than the hottest day you will ever have had in Ireland. ps folks from Killibegs and Belfast. Do not pack any basic toiletries etc ( I paid over weight first time) and there is stacks of good shops selling everything like shampoo etc- clinique estee laiudee-- a few specailists brands like vidal saaaon not available. All cheaper usually than Eire or UK. What you shoudl bring is really cool shorts, shift dresses, strappy T-shirts. For work long sleve very thin cotton shirts- not tight, no low necks, cool baggy trousers, thin cotton- but you may have a uniform- are you going to National guard hospoital? When you get here you will soon make freinds who will settle you in- If you have an e-mail that will not reveal your name could you send it to me- then I will e-mail you with phone number. Flip flops a must, also bring Bikinis(no where to try on here) . AS back and forward loadds of times I will tell you what I brought back this time.
Carrs table water biscuits, cream crackers, horseradish sauce, piccalilli, 30kg of books, DVDs( no cinema here) reading glasses, stilton cheese two whole ones! Also ususally I will buy cooton shorts in the Uk as they are hard to find here. good luck see you sson I hope.
Some haetlth food avaible but fresh fruit and veg excellent. No lactose free products - my freinds child who is lactose intolenernt we all bring stuff back. Every other food type avaible- though no white pudding I'm afraid! Exceelnt hairdresser Saad in Al Basatten compound- need to get someone who lives there to let you in. Also good I here in Sierra compound. Jaques- Soulenge or some poncy french name on THalia street open to everyone- but rip off ( 350 sar for small cut! Also avoid hilton one- I got ripped off 750 SAR for highlights and man and pedicure - ps if you never got your nails done before- you will soon! Ask the girls you work with.
best wishes

Thank you so much, that is great, had thought there was a bit of a winter - someone mentioned show in places! Would there be specialist bread shops selling alternatives to wheat ie rye or quinoa? Have a feeling there may not & will need to bring in ingredients. A pleasure hearing positive useul info. cloud000365@gmail.com

IN this region we only haev an annual rainfall of 3cm. There has never been snow. My husband insisyted on bringing a jumper - he has never worn it outside. ALTHOUGH do a bring a cardi for inside some people have their AC set at 20 c and I freeze!
Deli France I think do specailist bread. I think Danube do gluten free section.( but not bread) I should bring ingrediants- this would be very wise. Bread making machine available.

These informative inputs mean so much. Running after last minute messages ie just thrown at me: bring 10xpics (2x3). As odd size, suggested to get them over there. Reply: best bring with you. No luck yesterday but nephew may help me today! And btw, what is the location of Deli France and Danube?

Yes am here, going thru the process of initial settling in and trying to get out and about and see whats on. The beaches will be a priority very soon as will other activities that dont cost a fortune to engage in or join. Is there a Darts Team around? Fairly mpressed so far. Sent you my email a while back - no response. Cheers just now.
