Having done loads of research for my forthcoming move to Riyadh, the general concessus is that an abaya and headscarf are a very important part of our wardrobe as women.
However, nowhere in any information I have gathered has anyone managed to explain what happens at the airport. Where does one buy an abaya on arrival. Is there somewhere at the airport or is it possible to order them, even, over the internet?
Please help answer this question for me.

Very few new residents arrive with an abaya. It is usual to buy soon after arrival. As long as you dress conservatively for your arrival, you will have no problems. Wear something long - skirt or trousers (loose) and have long sleeves and with chest well covered. It is not necessary to cover the head.

Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated. So much to do before coming to Riyadh and don't have a definite date yet. My husband is already there so it is left up to him to find accomodation. Up to me to clear out our house in France.
