The Cove is a new compound and is on the Royal Commission, which is the 'westernised' area where you will find most hospitals, western shops etc. It has 300 villas and is for western expatriates only. There is a lagoon and 2km of white beaches actually inside the security perimeter of the compound. Arabia Homes is an older compound about 13 Km out in the desert from Yanbu Royal Commission. It's ok, but it's a bit old and crowded. Also allows non-westerners and no lagoon and beaches of course. I'd say the Cove no question - and they are about the same cost. Hope that helps!
