cost of contact lenses in Jeddah

Hi. I'm living in Jeddah and was wondering if anyone knows the typical cost of buying a pair of contact lenses in this city (for the sake of comparison).

I currently only have eyeglasses and an eyeglass prescription, but have been told that I can use my glasses prescription to get contacts. Does anyone have any experience with this? My health insurance doesn't cover vision so I'd be paying out of pocket if I bought them in this country.

hi. it usually depends on where you're going to buy your pair. If you purchase one in the hospital's optha clinic it ranges from SR 150 to 400 or even higher depending on the type of contacts you want from clear to colored, also the grade of your lenses matters. There are also dailies which you can use for 24 hours which is a lot cheaper than those that you can use for 3 or 6 months. You can also check at Al Balad, most of the optical shops there sells contacts for only SR 60 to 90 only and it already comes with grade and color and can be used for 6 months. Same quality and brand than those in the hospitals and popular optha clinics in the city. :)
