Hi, I'm married and am planning on arriving in Saudi first. My husband won't come until he can find a job. Is there anything I should know.

Know that you will be treated as a "single" woman until your husband arrives. This means you need. Driver to take you everywhere, no socializing with men unless you are in a westernized area. Make sure you bring your original marriage certificate with you and get it endorsed or else he will not be welcomed

Thank you... I will be with a company placing me. I assume they will give me married housing.

They will only give you married housing if you are on married contract. If your husband does not belong to the same company unless you have a senior position it is unlikely you will have a married contract.

hmmm....you'll be surprised how difficult it is for women to get around because you can't drive. It depends what city you're in, if your in Al Khobar, or Jeddah things would be easier, if your in Al Ahsa or Jubail it's alot tougher. If you are not living in a compound where you work than life will be quite tough. If you work for Saudi Aramco, life will be quite good.

Hi, First of all you are most welcome to Saudi Arabia and Secondly life here is not too tough as others friends are telling you. When you will be here you can observe it by yourself. So no need to be depressed or worry but it is a fact that if you will live in a western compound you can do all what we are unable to do. You are most welcome If you need any thing while you will be here. Gud luck.
