Could someone advise me as to the best vpn for Netflix , Hulu , Amazon, HBO now etc. Also I have never lived abroad before and need a little advice. I will be living in housing provided by King Faisal Hospital and will need to buy a blender , crock pot , protein powder for my green smoothies. I'm both excited and a little nervous both as I'm coming as a single woman and leaving my boyfriend behind for a year :(
Anyone here also working at King Faisal hospital?

Welcome to the Monkey House! Riyadh is a wild place and depending upon where you are from be prepared to adapt your life!
I am a RN at a private hospital and was in culture shock for about 3 months. I am over it now. Do not bring any electronics here. The power system is different and the plugs don't fit.
Bring enough protein powder for a few months as it may take a while until you have figured out the navigation system and location for a place that you can buy it.
Life is what you make of it here. There are groups for anything imaginable.
In use "Strong VPN" and for the most part it works well. I also use a "Slingbox" from Directv and connect to DirectTV via the Internet as the TV options for English speaking stations is minimal.

It should because when you set it up you choose a city and state to pull from. I pull from TX because I run my DirectTV from home
I would think Netflix would be no problem

I live in King Faisal G complex so can answer some questions. Pure VPN is what I use quite successfully. However Netflix has stopped any VPN PC from receiving. The VPN company is trying to negotitate with them but it will not be successful. However Amazon Prime works great and I know there r other sites. But please load the VPN, Prime, etc programs onto your computer at home before u come. Your kitchen here will be fully stocked with dishes, cutlery, set of pots, blender, toaster, and sometimes an electric kettle. You can go around to the masalama sales where people sell their household items before they go home. U will find alot of deals of gently used items to suppliment what the hospital gives u. Finding protein powder is hit and miss so bring your own for at least a few month. And it is unlikely u will find the exact brand u like. But we all learn to adapt.
If u tell me what your job is and your grade on your contract I can probably fill u in on what u will encounter when u get here.

Netflix has stopped broadcasting to VPN computers in KSA. But Amazon Prime works well and has better movie content. I would recommend u download both at home before u come here.
