Hi,

I'm from Perth, Australia and looking to go to UK, Scotland within the next 6 months.
My husband and I will take the plunge and must do this to get out off our system. We have a 1.5 year old daughter, and if anyone could let us know which area is best for a family.

Tips for looking for work, customer service etc...renting and the daily living

thank you

Edinburgh and Glasgow are probably your best bet. Rent can be quite expensive (although I don't know much about rent in australia..) you'll find details of amounts on sites such as citylets.co.uk or do a search of glasgow and edinburgh property letting agencies.

If you would like to live in a city I would recommend Edinburgh or Aberdeen or Inverness (very small "city").
If you hate sitting in busy traffic when you are trying to get somewhere then avoid the Glasgow/Lanarkshire areas.
The Towns I would recommend as Family- Forres - North East Scotland, good weather. Callendar near Stirling is nice. Banchory and it's surrounding small villages are very nice (Royal Deeside, West of Aberdeen) and has good schools.
If you are house hunting you can look at www.espc.co.uk for Edinburgh or www.aspc.co.uk for Abdeen or www.hspc.co.uk for Inverness.
