Can't decide between Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen

Hi,

I just need some help making a decision. I have the opportunity to be transferred to Scotland but I can't decide if I should work in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen.

Edinburgh - I've visited before and LOVED it, but the type of work I'd be doing there is intimidating and I'm not sure I wan't to do it.

Glasgow - Never been and none of my friends have personally been there. One of my friends said it's quite blue collar which I don't mind but I'm not sure if that translates to rough neighbourhoods?

Aberdeen - Heard it's small but I'll get paid more and I have friends being transferred there around the same time.

Anyone want to give me a sales pitch on any of the above cities?

Cheers,
Esther

I`ve lived in all 3 at one time or other, Edinburgh i agree, not only beautiful to look at but also a pleasant enough place to live, good transport, good social etc.

Glasgow is the largest of the 3, east end is a bit like london, good for a bargain but rough and should be treated with caution, they dont mess about in that neck of the woods lol
west end is more cultural, more art, museums, good social spots(similar to parts of aberdeen).
South side is mixed like the north side, middle and working class areas but the south side hosts the majority of Glasgows Indian/pakistan people There is plenty in Glasgow to keep you entertained and in my opinion is the pick of the 3 in terms of social side...though..

Aberdeen is fast becoming the place to be and has become much more diverse and milti cultural now than it was when i was there 20 years ago, it has a good social set up, with classy bars and clubs etc and its a beautiful city in its own right, clean sea air which always made me tired lol and you got the mix of city folk and country folk combined which i like, canny beat a bit of tradition.

It all depends what kind of stay you wish to have?
hope that helps :-)
