Bringing two small dogs. Not into pub scene. Neighborhood suggestions.? Places to avoid. Have heard w end and south. Anything more specific? Thanks!

Depends what ur looking 4, Renting/buying? will U have a car? Lots of nice flats overlooking river Clyde. U can check out some properties on Rightmove.com. Sauchiehall St near Kelvin groves nice. West end V popular, around University/Byres Rd, even going further west,= Partick, further Whiteinch.

Thanks for your help Carrmia, Well that would help! Am looking for a 2 bed furnished flat/ cottage/ house that will accept 2 small dogs. Quiet area. Not sure about being around students, I was one once- I was not quiet! Nor should they have to be.! Husband will be working on Bothwell street. Would love some charm? Can't see my original post so hope I'm not repeating myself.! A little frenzied here.

As a Canadian who lived in Scotland (east coast) for a while, I can tell you my favourite area around Glasgow. Bearsden Cross.

One of the things I missed in Scotland was TREES. Because houses are not generally built with basements in the UK, Brits tend to have a fear of trees near their homes as they believe they will damage their house foundations. Consequently, you do not generally find streets lined with trees. Bearsden is an exception to this general rule.

Righmove is a good site to look at for properties. I like that they show you where the properties are on a map and also on Streetview. With Streetview, an agent can't take 'pretty pictures' that hide the rough edges. LOL

A safe place in Glasgow? An area frequented by Americans/Canadians? Will stay for two weeks.

Old Pro mentioned Bearsden, yes its nice, but would B a bit of a commute, think Whiteinch would B better/Thornwood. Disagree about her comments about the trees, that's more applicable 2 city center. Plenty of trees & tree lined Sts. Again, as we both said, check out Rightmove, rentals. Shows pics of inside+street view & other info.
