" There is a strong community of skinheads in Bratislava and Slovakia as a whole. People of color(Black, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern) should avoid all contact with skinheads. Many skinheads congregate in the old part of Bratislava, bus/train stations, and public housing estates such as Petrzlka. Many skinheads are violent. Skinheads will tend to beat and rob people who are not white. Another warning is regarding ethnic discrimination in general: People who are Hispanic, Middle Eastern, or Indian Descent will be mistaken for being Gypsy/Roma. That means you may be forbidden entrance in stores, expat hangouts, and public facilities such as hospitals. You may even be mistaken for being Gypsy by fellow expats. All people of color may be subject to petty harassment by police and public officals as well. The police may stop people of color (Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc...) and demand to see documents and residence papers. There are also growing incidences of anti-Semitism in Slovakia. People who practice Judaism should refrain in giving any public indications of their faith. Report all incidents to your embassy. Also report all incidents to the local expat paers as a means of warning others. Sincerely, Anna "
