I am planning to visit the slovak republic end 2008 and considering a stay of at least one year. I am presently beginning to learn the language. I am surprised by the lapse in time since last posting on this site? any Reason ? I would be interested to learn any information others would care to offer about "moving" to Bratislava, ie how to get to know the "real" not tourist Slovakia, also good places to visit and stay, or viewing particularly noteworthy music, art, cultural, architectural, natural and religious artefacts or events, ALSO for daily living - flat rental, living costs, opportunity to supplement my existing income through a little english teaching, agencies through which I might trace lost family, any cautions re cultural protocols, etc For anyone who is willing to spare the time - any info or especially story of your own experience would be greatly appreciated
