I will be retiring in 2007. Is it possible to stay in Slovenia for an indefinite period of time. I understand that I can enter for 90 days without a visa but I think the way I read the rules I would have to leave for 90 days before re-entering Slovenia. Is that correct.
I want to live in Maribor.
Hope to hear from you soon. Best, Will

I would suggest checking here http://www.gov.si/mzz/dkp/vwa/eng/consular_depa.shtml to do it the right way.
In reality, there are lots of people here who don't have visas. It is always a bit dicey. Many people read the law that they have to leave every 3 months and have a border stamp to prove it. I think you are reading the law right though.
You must get your visa in the US before coming though. If not, it is a huge hassle.
If you are independent and have adequate health coverage, I don't see any reason they wouldn't let you.
Cheers, Jan

Bill: Did you receive an answer to your question concerning retirement of U.S. Citizen in Slovenia?
If so, could you share it with me?
