I am a 27yr old graduate from London. I spent a year in SA, mostly PE in 2000 - 01 and fell in love with the country. I would love more than anything to move back, to PE if possible. I don't know my chances of doing so and would love any advice or info possible. I am willing to work in any field and would be very grateful for job agencies or names I could contact, thank you.

Without knowing your exact trade or industry, it is difficult to advice you specifically. However, here are some general observations. One of the best industries to get involved in, is Tourism/Hospitality. With S.A.'s popularity as a destination, thousands of people from all over the world visit S.A., with Cape Town leading the field by far! I would be happy to advice you more specifically, if you are interested write to me at:udann@hotmail.com Looking forward to hearing from you. Ulrich Dannecker

Hello, My name is Andrew and I am new to the forum. I have been to SA previously to do some archaeological field work as a graduate student. Things don't always work out the way they should and I ended up as a restaurant manager here in California. I am planning to move to SA in the next year or two with my 11 year old son. I was wondering how the job market is for experienced restaurant managers, and if the hours and pay are somewhat similar to those here in the US. I hope the hours are a bit less...but restaurants are restaurants. Does anyone have any insight that could be usefull in my future job search?

Hi there. I moved there with a company a few years back and in terms of visa advice etc your best bet is a relocation service from South African end. You'll have to pay for it, but may be worth sending an email to one of them. The one I used which I would have no hesitation in recommending was Relocation Africa www.relocationafrica.co.za. My guess is that you'll need a job set up and you'll have to show why you are more suitable than anyone they could hire locally (do you speak another language?). Good luck!
