Greetings all,
We just shipped a container from NY to Durban in Sept (which went flawlessly). Had I known about this website then I would have offered to add the boxes of others to our not quite full container. Now, I am back in the US for a month and could use a few more items from here that will not be transportable in my suitcase.
Is there anyone who plans on shipping items to SA from the US over the next month? If you think you will have some spare room in your container - like we did - I would appreciate being able to add a few boxes (approx 4).
Thanks for any consideration to this request - we leave the US for SA again in late Feb.

I am planning on moving to South Africa.....I had planned on a container but there is alot to consider and i didnt know how to go about doing it. I live in upstate NY. My expected move date is Feburary, but i wanted to send some things early because I know the time frame is lengthy. Any info you can give me to help out would be appriciated.....I feel like I am lost and I cant beleive I found this site. I am also looking for any info you may have as to temp visas or working visas.

Hi, We used Echo out of Manhattan for our shipment. Were very pleased wth them - everything arrived on time and in one piece. Happen to be in the US right now (just arrived yesterday) - so if you have any other questions maybe we can arrange a chat.

Hi Nancy,
I am leaving the US to live in S.A Capetown. My husband is South African. My question is I would like to bring with me my TV and sewing machine and other electric power tools. Im a carpenter so it is saws and stuff.. Where can I get a proper converter. Do they even make one here? Im in Boston any advice would be great. thanks, Mary

Hi Nancy,
We are going to relocate to South Africa, and could use a container, if I am able to ship my car. Do you know anything about shipping cars from the U.S. to South Africa?
I don't think it will be in a month, though. We are thinking of shipping sometime during the summer.
