Does anyone know about power converters? I am moving from The U.S to South Africa I would like to bring with me a TV sewing machine and some electric power tools. Any advice would be helpful. Please reply to krinkle1@verizon.net thank you for reading. Cheers, Mare

RE: Power converters.
Hi there, Unless your tools are very special, I recommend you arrive without them because the cost to get a converter may be over the top and it is relatively cheap to buy a large range of tools and good tv's in South Africa. Our rand is cuurently +- R7.70 to $1.00. One could buy a good quality 13mm( 1/2inch) chuck 2 speed hammer drill and a set of drill bits for well under a $100. You may even end up paying half price at a reputable second hand/ used tool outlet. Hope that helps.
