Buying a farm

Hi all. I'm in the USA and will be selling my business and retiring soon and was considering a move.

I was thinking to purchase a cattle or game farm as I have experience in raising cattle and would very much prefer a rural life.

How is SA as far as an expat doing business there?

How safe or unsafe is it living in the rural areas as a white, expat farmer?

Any info or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi There

Honestly it would not be a very good idea at the moment because there are farm murders happening regulary and until the Government decides to series pull out all the means to protect the farmers, unfortuanately I would not recommend that option now.
I am not white but am fed up and annoyed that we have the best landscapes and farms in south africa..just cannot trust the alarming crime rate especially on farm owners.
