Hi guys,

My husband and I are planning to move from Italy to South Africa, we have some big stuff (dining room table, wardrobes ect.) that we need to take with, do you have any advice as to what is the best way to move them or which companies we could use?

Hi Milo,

I just moved from Colombia with all my stuff to Jburg, had a very bad experience since they stole and damaged some of my belongings...but fortunately they did pay for all that was insured - I used international agents, but they used local agents and my stuff sit in a warehouse over Christmas, so they had the time to select what they wanted as presents for Christmas-

I will recommend you to contact Elliot International (www.elliot.co.za) they did helped me a lot thru the process as the agents in charge of my stuff or The MI Group which are an even bigger company.

You need to take the time to itemized everything and assign monetary value, keep copies of all documents they asked you to fill in, and if you have the time, do your own inventory, for those little things you just throw in (i.e. 10 jeans, 20 tshirts)...
