We're going to be putting together an article entitled, 10 Tips for Living in Spain, and we need your help. Please post a reply to this thread with as many tips as you'd like (or as few) for expats living in Spain. Whether you're a newcomer yourself or a seasoned expats whose lived abroad for many years, share your favorite tips for expats living in Spain. If you want to discuss or expand upon someone elses tip, feel free! We'll use your posts to compile the articles.

Begin with Buenos Dias (tardes, noches). It's amazing the difference that can make. I learned one morning when I got a surly cup of coffee in Madrid -- I had failed to simply greet the guy in the cafe. One thing that Makes Spain so enjoyable is that people take the niceties of life seriously. It makes every-day interaction so much more pleasant if you attend to details such as a decent greeting, decent clothes, taking a little extra time with people, etc. If you start a conversation with "Buenos dias", then you'll immediately fall into the rhythm, and people will respond in kind.
