Hi All, I am new to the forum and wondered if you could help as I am moving to Spain next month (Alicante Region) and i will be looking for developers that went bust in the last 16 years. You may or may not know but buyers that lost their money to Spanish developers can now claim their money back from the developers bank. If anyone can point me in the direction of developments that didn't get finished i would really appreciate it. The idea is to ask the developer to give me the contact details of buyers that lost out so that i may contact them. I do work for a company and yes i will be earning out of this once a claim has paid out but can you imagine how many people it could help after losing their money years ago? We offer No Win No Fee. Any ideas would be a massive help. thanks dannydld@mail.com Dan.DLD

Why would a developer want to give you information to help people get money back? What's in it for the developer?

Hi Oldpro, thanks for your question. The developer would be eligible for a commission as well as you would like to think it is the decent thing to do given the fact that clients paid him and lost their money.

I have no first hand knowledge or expertise in this Dannydid but I'm trying to imagine a couple of things.
First a developer in any country who cares about people who lost their money.
Second,a developer who is going to risk annoying his bank by giving out lists that will result in his bank having to hand over money on which the developer is getting a commission.
I see the first as a low probability in terms of persuading a developer they want to be involved. Business is about money, not about doing the 'decent' thing.
I see the second as being a conflict of interest for the developer who relies on his bank to lend him money to develop property. The last thing the developer would want is the bank to look on him unfavourably.
Good luck with getting developers to help you. I don't see it as highly likely. I think you might do better to try and find those who lost money, yourself.
I'm guessing the majority were from the UK. Why not try running some ads in newspapers there or try getting a tv station to do an interview with you where you explain they can claim from the banks and ask the speculators who lost money to contact you.
