Considering Move to Malaga area

My wife and I are 72 and considering moving to the Malaga area. We know the procedures, but are looking to see if there are people near our age in the Malaga area. We would also like to correspond with someone to ask questions. We will be in Malaga on May 14th and 15th and would enjoy meeting someone for dinner to have a discussion.

My husband and I are Americans but moved to Nerja five and a half years ago. Nerja is about 40 km to the east of Malaga. We love Malaga, but are really enjoying Nerja. We would be happy to meet up with you while you are here.. are you both Americans?

Sharon and Ron, thank you so much for replying. We are both Americans and our biggest concern is whether or not there are retired people of our age in the are. I have heard of Nerja, but I put Malaga in our message because that is the largest city from what I see. We hate the six months of winter in Michigan and love the life style that we have seen on our visits to Europe. We have spent 3 months in Europe and have enjoyed every minute. Hopefully you will not mind if we ask some questions and then set a date for May to sit down and visit both of you. Thanks again.

Would love to hear your questions...I am 67 and my husband, 71. We are healthy and hike a lot with friends, but there are other opportunitie to get involved, fOr example, I volunteer once a week at a Spanish day care center who works with physically and mentally challenged people between 20-55. There are English speaking movies twice a week here with open air markets and so many other things. I don't blame you for wanting to get out of Michigan with the weather. We rent a four bedroom home in a friendly urbanization with Spanish and people fro England....we have a fireplace and actually have a fire going now, as we do every evening in the winter. Please let me know your questions anytime. Just in case it is easier, my email address is sadsm28@hotmail.....look forward to hearing from you.....??

Hello again.....just a few comments about your concern for age.....we went yesterday to a friends of ours birthday party, he just turned 70 and we have a great friend who is 75. Our friends age ranges from probably 50ish to 70's.....and actually, it really hasn't mattered about the age as long as we enjoy something in common, be it walking, hiking, cooking or just having coffee. Just something to keep in mind. Anyway, enough for now, I will wait to hear back from you.....Sharon

Yes, it isn't a problem, but you just need to pay for it. I think we pay something like $3,000 plus.????....ish but we only have a co-pay of like $ 15.00 for each appointment.

Irony of ironies--my wife and I (Americans) will be in the Malaga area the same time. We're spending two months exploring the coast looking the right place to live. We're both retired, in our late 60s. Could we join you when you meet up. My email is mschannon@cox.net. Thanks.
