hello all - my husband and i hope to tour spain in feb-march for 2-3 weeks. reviewing these posts, i see that "there are over a million expats living in Spain" and what i hope to learn is: what area has the greatest expat concentration? and do US expats tend to gather more in certain areas? thanks so much!

I think the census up here shows about 200 Americans in San Sebastian. I've no idea about other areas. To the best of my knowledge, we don't get together. A few of us know each other, but that seems to be about it.

SW Spain - Rota's US Naval Base houses a large group of approx. 20K American soldiers and their families. Other places of interest where expats spend time are Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol. No info found on where US civilian expats gather. Hope you both enjoy the tour!
