Residency help, please!

Hi Expats!

Please can someone assist with the following queries. I'd really appreciate assistance.

I am a UK citizen currently in Spain with my non-EU spouse. Fortunately, I have managed to secure both accommodation and employment within this month of moving.

My spouse is here with me on a Schengen visa (of EU spouse).

My questions are:

- What is required for my spouse to acquire residency in Spain? I'm assuming it's dependent on me being employed, us living together and both having NIE numbers.

- What specific residency is issued to non-EU nationals; is it an Article 10 residence card or residence card for family members of an EEA citizen'?

- When should residency be applied for? We are currently 1 month out of the 3 months for the Schengen given.

- What is the validity of such a residency; is it 5 years?

I'd really appreciate assistance from someone who has followed this route.

Thank you in advance! :)

Hello,

Congratulations on getting a job, I am not an expert on the subject of laws in Spain, but I know immigration lawyers in Spain who could help you, they were the ones who helped my family and my friends to prepare all the papers and documents to come to Spain And obtain Spanish citizenship.

I recommend that you contact them, I will leave you the website of the law firm

Hi LilianUK, where are you actually moving too? It might help to direct us where to direct you for legal help in Spain :-) For example I am in Almeria Province and I would be happy to suggest someone here who may be able to help you both.
KR,
Sally
