Hi, we are moving to SL from Australia next year on retirement visa and would like to send household furniture and other goods.
Does anyone know of reliable clearing agents who would give us guidance on how much duty we would have to pay etc.
Thanks. Naila

Log on to Sri Lanka customs and you will find details of personal imports. On my personal effects when I shipped stuff in 4 years ago there was no charge. As to clearing agents I suggest you use the agent recommended by your shipping agent/company.

Hi, There will be 'Nil Duty' for Personal Effects. If you still require assistance, please do contact me. I work for a shipping company in SL. We do handle both import/export personal effect shipments. regards/- Dulip dulip@marazak.com
