thinking of retiring to Sri Lanka

I am hoping to retire to Sri Lanka in about 18 months. I have planned a "scouting trip" from March 21 through March 30, 2017. I was hoping to meet up with other ex pats. My itinerary is as follows:
Colombo (arriving evening of March 21 and leaving Colombo the next afternoon),
Kandy (arriving evening of March 2 5 and departing the morning of March 28)
Galle (arriving in the afternoon of March 28 and departing around noon on March 29).
I will also be in Colombo on March 30. My flight departs in the evening that day.
If anyone in these cities is interested in meeting with me, please contact me.

My family and I are doing the same thing hopefully in 12 months ... I've found that the expats Facebook page is really good for contacting people and the response is good :)
Good luck on your scouting trip .. ours is in August .

Thanks, Sarah. I will let you know how my scouting trip goes. I am from Florida and will be renting a car. Not used to left hand drive. Should be interesting. Where are you from?

My husband and I took our family to Florida last year we had a great time :)

We're based in the U.K. I would love to live in a warm climate with simple living, I'm a yoga teacher and therapist and Sri Lanka just seems to be the perfect place.

Please let me know how things go for you I hope you get chance to meet up with people.

Good luck with driving over there, we drive on the left but I think I would be a little nervous driving on their roads !
