American moving to Stockholm, Sweden

I will be moving to Stockholm, Sweden about mid-January. I was wondering if anyone could point me into the right direction for job opportunities. I only speak English and I keep hearing about SFI, but I do not know where to begin regarding helpful resources in my move. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hello and welcome to Sweden. Is litle bit hard here but you can fix it.First when you came here you need one adress where you can stay, after you have to go to Skateverket and aply for personal numbers(4 weeks you have to wait)after you register to Sfi,means svenska or invandrare(SWEDISH FOR BEGINER)but is very hard to find job,you have to know,is a close, could country..

Thanks lopers3,

But do you know if there are any jobs that are easy to get, and get the work-permit for, after somebody arrives in Sweden? For expample: easy jobs like cleaning or Restaurant work, until we find a better job(?)

We appreciate any experience & further information.

Thanks.

Did you get a job in Sweden as a cleaner (and the work-permit for it) after you arrived there, or did you arrange your job before you went? What Country are you from?

Do you know non-EU citizens who came there for simple jobs and they also got a work-permit fairly simply?
